  1. What happened to Jem and Scout is just unforgiveable. For someone to go after two kids is just wrong and senseless. What I believe that happened was that on their way home, Mr. Ewell was going to harm Jem and Scout. But Boo Radley came and saved them by killing Mr. Ewell. I think that Boo has always been looking out for them, in the beginning he gave them gifts and now he protected them from danger. He has always been the one secretly there for them and now his presence is known.

    1. I agree with Angela. Bob Ewell had no right to go after anyone, expecally Atticus's children. I'm so happy we finally meet Boo Radley! If only Dill was with the kids. I wonder if Boo is going to tell the kids why he gave them gifts.

    2. I agree with Angela and Sam because it is not right for anyone to go after two kids that are not able to protect themselves. But I was very astonished that Boo Radley came to save them. During the whole book he was just a creep, from what people said, and now he is a hero killing Mr.Ewell to save two kids. It's great we get to see Boo Radley's true presence and personality.

    3. I agree with Jen, Angela, and Sam. Bob Ewell should not be attacking the Finches especially Jem and Scout. He won the case, he shouldn't be worrying about the Finches. I am very upset that Jem was knocked out and broke his arm due to Mr. Ewell's bad thoughts and actions. Also, everyone throughout the book thought that Boo Radley was a creep. He has been saving and helping the kids since the beginning. I am very happy that Boo Radley killed Bob and save the kids.

    4. I agree with all of them completely. I think that as Jem and Scout started to walk home Boo saw Mr.Ewell walking behind them he grabbed a knife and decided to follow them all. I defintiley think Mr.Ewell was trying to rape Scout and do more than break Jem's arm. After this happened Boo got the courage to kill Mr.Ewell. Justice has not be served yet because I think Mr.Tate will accuse Jem or Scout of the killing because no one knows that Boo Radley ever goes out.

    5. I agree with all of them, I think that justice has not been served. Mr.Ewell was so angry that Tom Robinson "raped" Mayella, yet he is going after kids which is just as horrible as that situation. I think also they won't think it's Boo who tried to help considering he doesn't go out, but the kids will especially be curious as to who helped them out. It is not fair that Mr.Ewell also seems to just go after the kids because of previous issues with Atticus.

    6. I agree with Angela. Bob Ewell had no right to go after Jem and Scout. He is clearly unstable and dangerous. I think justice was not served because even though he is angry about a crime he is committing a crime himself by attacking innocent Jem and
Scout. I feel like Jem and scout could be blamed for killing Bob Ewell because no one would suspect it to be boo, So as a result justice isn't served.

  2. during the time scout and hem were being attacked, I was completely in shock. I didn't want anything to happen to them, and I'm glad that they were saved. I liked how Gem tried to save scout and did his best to protect her

    1. I agree with Taylor and everyone that replied to Angela's comment, and with Angela. I think that Bob Ewell had waited for Jem and Scout and figured that if he harmed them, he could get back at Atticus for harming the last shred of credibility he had in town. I also liked how Jem wanted to make sure Scout was okay before trying to save himself, a very admirable thing to do. I think Boo Radley was right to help Jem and Scout, but I was shocked to find out that he had actually killed Bob Ewell. I think Boo Radley is somewhat like Jem and Scout's guardian angel, always watching over them, helping them out, and giving them things. It was a little creepy when he carved their images into soap, but he really came through protecting them from Mr. Ewell. I wonder if he will get a new respect in town for it and maybe if the Finch family will befriend him. Will he stay outside of his house or just got back to hiding?

  3. What happened to Jem and Scout was very wrong. They are children and helpless. If you are mad at Atticus you should talk it out with him, violence towards anyone, especially his kids, is not the answer. I was glad that Boo Radley decided out of the goodness of his heart to save them. He carried Jem and had to kill Mr.Ewell, which could lead to possible arrests, to save not even his own kids. They always had Boo wrong, like Angela said he was always looking out for them and trying to help. Especially here when Mr. Ewell tried to kill the children in the dark.

  4. Bob Ewell should not be out for everyone that was connected to the case, he had won after all. Going and threatening and saying bad things about Tom Robinsons wife. I love how Boo Radley went out of his hand to save scout and jem and then kill Bob Ewell knowing that further consequences could be coming. Showing that he is a good man.

  5. I think that justice has been served. Bob Ewell was not only accusing Tom but he was also out to get Atticus. We do not know what harm could have come from Bob because he was so uneducated. He could've been reckless knowing he beats his children. If Bob was the one who beat up Scout and Jem then he definitely deserves what he got. No children deserve to be attack or beaten.

  6. I think that justice was served. Bob Ewell caused the death of Tom Robinson, so in turn, Bob Ewell died. Bob Ewell was an awful man who abused his children and was a heavy drinker. He also was a liar and a racist, and he deserved what he got. Therefore, justice was served. However, I also feel remorse for the rest of the Ewells. While their father deserved what he got, the children do not deserve to live without a father, even if he was an awful one.

    1. I mostly agree with Sagan, but I feel that Bob Ewell's justice could have been served by more than just the one person who saved Jem and Scout. No one person has the right to be judge, jury and executioner, although in this instance the man didn't have time to think it through. If Bob had been arrested, tried and convicted of attempted murder I would feel more comfortable with it, but still, at some level Bob got what he deserved.

  8. I feel that justice was served because since Bob caused Tom Robinsons death, he sadly deserves it. He was very abusive and dangerous. He was very discriminitory and caused harm to everyone he was around. Therefore justice was served.

  9. Although Bob Ewell is the cause of Tom Robinson's death and had no right to go after Jem and Scout, I personally feel some sorrow for his children. Even though he is a terrible man he was the only source of income for the family. Without Bob Ewell the children are without an income. Mayella will not be able to get a job that has enough pay. Even if she gets a job it will not be a respectable one seeing what her and her father put Tom Robinson through.
I feel justice was served for Bob Ewell, but it in turn effects his children, and that is not fair. They do not deserve the backlash of his doings.

  10. What Mr. Ewell did was very immature. Instead of trying to get revenge on Atticus by trying to harm his children, he should've personally went to Atticus and tried to talk it out and come to an understanding. Mr. Ewell shouldn't be after evrryone who was within the case, instead he should've been thankful that they have won. In addition, I think it was very kind of Boo to help save Jem and Scout, even though they haven't always been the most pleasant towards him in the past.

  11. Yes I do think justice has been served. Bob Ewell was an awful man who beat his children and was a heavy drinker and had part in the death of Tom Robinson. He deserved what he got because he would put people down, lie, and had no good morals for his life or for his family. Also, during that last scene of chapter 29 I believe that Bob Ewell was planning on getting revenge on Atticus by the way of his children from the trial but in turn died by the stranger who I think is Boo Radley. Boo has pretty much been their guardian angel from the begging whether it be sewing up Jem's pants or saving them from the harm of Bob Ewell

    1. I agree with Arion because I think that Mr.Ewell is a bad person and wanted to physically harm the Finch family for exposing his lifestyle. It was very wrong of him breaking Jem's arm and knocking him unconscience. I think that Boo came to the rescue for the children and took Bob Ewell's life away. Bob was a uncontrollable alcoholic man who didn't do any good to anybody, not even his children, so justice has been served

  12. There was no reason for Bob Ewell to go after anyone who was connected to the case, especially Atticus's children. He won the case so I don't really get why he wanted revenge on Atticus. It was very uncalled for because he is a grown man going after and scaring children. It was very brave and thoughtful of Boo Radley to save Jem and Scout from Bob Ewell and also kill him. He probably knew that there would be great consequences for his actions, but he did it anyways. This shows that Boo is actually a good and kind man.

  13. I think that justice had been served. No matter what happened in the courtroom, even if it was worse, Bob Ewell had no right in going after Scout and Jem as revenge on Atticus. Also, Bob Ewell caused the death of Tom Robinson and this is the justice he deserves for his actions.

  14. I believe justice has been served because if that had happened today men who beat their children and do what Bob Ewell did get consequences. He had we he got coming to him because of all of the bad he has done in the past. I also think Boo killed Bob and he came out of his house just in time because Scout and Jem's lives were saved.

  15. I think that Bob Ewell had no right in attacking Jem and Scout. He did not have a real good reason too. He won the case even though he shouldn't have. He got everything he wanted. He even got Tom being dead! Him attacking the kids did nothing good for him what so ever and ended up getting himself killed.

  16. To say that there was justification for Bob Ewell actions is not right. But to agree that justice was served is also not right. Simply because it isn't right to kill somebody regardless of the situation. I don't feel that justice was served because somebody died for no valid reason. It would have been better if Bob attacks the kids and then he went to the court or something like that. Something that is nonviolent and isn't destructive. That is my view on that topic.

  17. I don't think Bob Ewell being killed was justified, even if he did attack the kids. I think he should've been arrested by not necessarily killed by someone else. I found it nice that Jem stook up for Scout when she was being attacked and tried to save her the best that he could, until he was knocked unconscious. I also really liked that Boo Radley was finally revealed and that he was watching over the kids and protecting them as well. I hope we get to discover more about his character later on in the book.

  18. I understand that Bob was upset with Atticus but going after two defenseless kids is unlivable. He should follow the rule pick on someone your own size. The fact he died is kinda of like karma, he had scared Helen by following her to work and whispering things to her and then to attack two kids. The unnamed man did a good thing in ensuring the safety of Jem and Scout.

  19. I wonder how the ewell family feels about their father's death. Even though he was abusive, he was still their father. Also, would Boo Radley go to trial for the murder of Bob Ewell? If not, would he have if he was black?

  20. I think justice was served when Bob was killed he had no reason to go after the children, he had one the case, got Tom Robinson killed, and after all of that still assaulted the kids so i believe that justice was served

  21. Justice definitely has been served. With the death of Tom Robisnson, Bob Ewell had to face the consequences for what he had done. He pinned an innocent man against a corrupt justice system. This resulted in his death. All to just keep a positive reputation. He beat his daughter and didn't confess to it at all. It followed him straight to the grave.
